FLOCK-A-FRIEND
Pink flamingos land on lawns by night,
Bringing morning laughs and pure delight.
Your donation sets these birds in flight,
As we raise funds for causes right.
A migration is underway now!
The flamingos will flock until September 20th, then hibernate until the next migration.
For a $15 donation you can surprise another KOSC member or eligible member with a dozen pink flamingos installed in their yard. The flamingos will roost for 24-48 hours before migrating elsewhere.
The money raised will benefit the KOSC charitable distributions fund.
Our flocks only fly over MCBH, but off-base members are welcome to flock their friends on base.
Flamingo Insurance
If you'd like to prevent the flock from landing in your yard, you can purchase flamingo insurance for $40.
How To Flock a Friend
1. Complete the form below with your information and payment.
2. Include the full name and MCBH address of the friend(s) you'd like to flock!
3. Calculate the total donation. Each flock is $15. Insurance is $40.
Eligible Members
Spouses of active duty & reserve Commissioned and Warrant Officers currently serving in ANY branch of the US military stationed in Hawaiʻi. Spouses of retired Commissioned and Warrant Officers having served in ANY branch of the US military residing in Hawaiʻi.
Flocks are available on a first come, first served basis.
FAQ's
- How long is it running? Current migration is until Sep 20th.
- How many flocks are there? 2 flocks of approximately 2 dozen flamingos each.
- Can I customize the birds? YES. However, you will need to provide any signs, decorations, or accessories you’d like used for the flock. Use the comments section to let us know if you’d like to do so.
- Can I prevent the birds from coming to my yard? Yes. Flocking insurance is available for $40 and will ensure you do not get flocked, but just for the current migration.
- How often can we flock someone? As many times as you want!
- How long do the birds stay in one yard? approximately 48 Hours.
- Can I send multiple flocks to one house? Yes! We can send one or both flocks!
- Where is the money going? All proceeds are going to the KOSC charitable distributions fund.
